Squarespace benefits amd features

What is Squarespace?

Squarespace is a landing page builder just like Wix and other page builders that has some ready-made templates that can be dragged and dropped to create an outstanding design for a particular business project.

Many questions have been going on around the internet about whether Squarespace is suitable for a novice website builder or beginner internet marketer.

The question is not what I will answer Yes or No to. Just move alongside me and you will justify yourself whether Squarespace is something that can help you.

Let us look at the Features and Benefits of Squarespace.

  1. Eye-catching design templates
  2. Understandable Elements and Operation
  3. All-in-one page platform
  4. Supportive Customer Service
  5. Squarespace are responsive to customer needs and wants

Features And Benefits Of Squarespace Landing Page Builder.

1. Eye-catching design templates:

One of the major benefits of Squarespace is its templates. They have modern design templates that resonate with the audience of this century.

Many years back, the design that you can use for your page cannot be compared to the designs you can use now.

Because customer’s tastes and preference has now elevated and upgraded.

So, it’s not a surprise that Squarespace is monitoring and studying the preferences of the

internet audience and creating eye-catching design templates that will make any visitor stay glued to the website.

Although, this might also be something you can find on other page builders. So, it might not be new to you.

But if you’re looking for a page builder with eye-catching templates. Don’t look any further. Squarespace is one of them.

And they are not relenting or going slow. They are working hard to create an outstanding user experience.

No reasonable company should be ready to lose out their customers to their competitors.

Because they know that it is detrimental to the continuous operation of their brand.

So, that’s why Squarespace is aiming and striving towards keeping their customers and making sure their customers keep coming back and renewing their Recurring fees.

2. Understandable Elements and Operation:

Squarespace has a website interface that is easy to understand. It’s easy for someone to just drag and drop the buttons and elements.

The interface is very well understood. You don’t have to go online in search of tutorials before you can understand how you can use their element.

It is already available with what each element serves for. And because Squarespace wants an interface that shows perfectly on almost all devices.

They don’t just allow you to place an element on any surface of the page you are building.

They already have some specific aspects that you can drop elements.

If you’re used to creating landing pages for yourself or people. This will not be a new thing to you.

But if you have not created landing pages previously and you might be wondering what elements is all about.

They are what you drop inside the page to turn it into the result you want to achieve.

They are very easy to understand what each one serves and the appropriate place you should drop them.

Some landing pages in Squarespace already have the elements on the page.

And you only have to edit them like changing the text and images and videos and other things.

It’s very easy to understand and operate.

3. All-in-one page platform:

Another benefit of Squarespace is that users can use it for several purposes.

The Squarespace founder and creator are making it very easy for those who have businesses in several niches on the internet to integrate all their business into one platform.

What this means is that, if you’re someone who is in the e-commerce niche, Affiliate niche, Real estate niche, or maybe others.

You can integrate everything into just one platform with Squarespace because they have templates that are in almost all niches on the internet.

This makes it very easy for their users to handle their businesses because it’s a little bit difficult for someone to keep moving from one website to the other.

But imagining everything already done for someone on a platform makes it very easy to handle several businesses.

They are doing this just to make sure that someone won’t have to keep spending money to hire website designers.

Normally, I like this about them because integrating them into one platform has made it easy for any novice to quickly start and adapt.

4. Supportive Customer Service:

The Squarespace customer care service is top-notch. They are always ready to help no matter the situation.

The ability to train their customer care to listen attentively to customers and show curiosity means that the founders are caring to their staff.

That’s why the majority of the users of Squarespace testify that they love their customer support because they always solve their problems.

For someone like me, before I involve in typing my credit card on a platform to purchase any of their plans.

I will first chat with their customer team to see how well they respond to customers.

I won’t want a platform that I will need to wait for days before I will get replies and feedbacks.

That’s what kills many brands out there because they don’t even care to provide a solution for their customers.

I remember when I was using Siteground as my website hosting platform.

I know I might not be supported to say this but this is my brand and my website.

So, I am free to say what I like. When I used Siteground, their customer team was not supportive at all.

I could remember me having a problem of hackers on one of my website them.

They weren’t supportive and still require me to go hire a website developer before I can fix it.

I was like, this is something you can do for me. They even locked my website without informing me and everything I was supposed to do was in vain during that time.

I regretted using Siteground and will not even allow my enemy to register with them. Oh yes! I won’t.

So, that tells you how customer service is important for customers. And that is what Squarespace possesses.

5. Squarespace are responsive to customer needs and wants:

This might look a little bit close to the customer service feature I said earlier but it’s somehow different.

What I am saying here is that they read the reviews that their clients or users leave on their page.

Some features are available in Squarespace today that weren’t available many years ago.

This tells you that Squarespace listens attentively to everything that its users are saying.

They go ahead and read the complaints that their users give and work towards solving that problem.

This is how a company grows because when some features are not available previously and it’s now available…

…users will become happy to upgrade their plans and even bring more people to using their products.

Now that we are done with the features and benefits of the Squarespace landing page builder.

Let us move to the Pros and Cons of Squarespace.

  1. Video Tutorials
  2. Comprehensive
  3. Trial Period
  4. Export and Import data
  5. Mobile responsive websites
  6. Bundled Into A Whole

Pros

1. Video tutorials:

Unlike some other landing page builders where you will be left hanging or keep running from one search engine to another in search for concrete understand some difficulties when using a particular landing page builder.

Squarespace is not like that, they already have some Done-For-You tutorial in each aspect of the platform that teaches you how to use the feature that you plan to use.

Having video tutorials splashed on the website is a cool feature that not only gives the user the proper user satisfaction.

It also serves as an important strategy of keeping their users intact on their website without losing to their competitor.

Because if a user should log out and keep looking for a way to use a feature on their website.

Such a user can stumble upon some clickbait headlines that will compel him or her to check out some other shiny object sugar-coated words that might go against the belief of Squarespace.

Such a user can just forget his or her subscription and just decide to keep running from one builder to another.

Although, this might look advantageous to the Squarespace brand as a whole.

It is also a good advantage for Squarespace users who are a novice to easily understand what the feature that they are about to use is all about without being manipulated by other brands.

2. Comprehensive:

When using some other page builders. You will experience some glitches like mistakenly dropping some elements on your page and look confused as to how it got there.

This is majorly common when a novice is using a page builder and get difficult to quickly correct the mistake.

Maybe you as a user mistakenly drop the “Title icon” instead of the “body text icon” inside the page.

You can easily get lost as to how to delete the mistake or quickly correct it to continue what you are doing.

But many other page builders out there make their users get lost especially the novice and this might cost them to cancel their current progress and start from the previously saved progress.

But because Squarespace is well comprehensive and understandable. It becomes easy to quickly correct the mistake as a novice.

The delete icon is well positioned in a way that will make you understand what to do next.

Not clicking and tapping on multiple buttons before one can correct a mistake.

Most of the time on some page builders. It is when someone keeps clicking from one element to another in search of the correct element.

That will make someone click on an element that is not supposed to be clicked on.

3. Trial Period:

Another advantage that Squarespace has given to its users is the trial period that one can use before taking the bold step to purchase a plan.

Squarespace has given a trial period for users to test out their service and make the decision of whether to purchase their plan or not.

Their 14 days Free Trial is very advantageous to users and makes testing more enjoyable.

If you’re someone who is starting without much budget. It can be very easy to just commence your landing page building.

Building pages for your business can be difficult at the start because you need to purchase a plan on some platforms before you can build your website.

But because you have 14 days trial period. You can easily create a page and run adverts to it.

After running the advert (preferably paid adverts), you can start earning money from your paid adverts when you drive visitors to your Squarespace landing page.

So, it makes it easy to purchase a plan and be able to maintain Recurring plans.

I think Squarespace already made it easy for beginner internet marketers who Without any high budget are starting…

…to easily use their platform and make money for themselves by accessing their features for free for the next 14 days starting from the registration day.

4. Export and Import data:

I don’t know but I feel like Squarespace might think that some of their users might have some third-party files that they which to transfer into their Squarespace platform.

That’s why Squarespace has made it available for their users to import files into their platform.

Also, if a user has some files or analytics on his or her platform that might need to be exported.

The files can be easily exported and used as a reference for other purposes.

Or maybe you are using the Squarespace email platform where you have access to gather the email addresses of people.

Because Squarespace also supports and has email marketing features. These are some of the things you can export for storage purposes or other purposes.

5. Mobile responsive websites:

Creating mobile-friendly websites should be one of the top priorities of every internet marketer.

Because most internet users access it through their mobile phones.

So, that’s why most internet marketers try as much as possible to optimize their websites for mobile visitors.

This is the opportunity that Squarespace has given to its users because they have made their landing pages already optimized for mobile views.

If you have used Squarespace before or you will be going to use Squarespace, you will see that you cannot just drag and drop elements anywhere you like.

There are only some designated aspects where you can drag and drop elements.

This particular feature on a platform like WIX is something enjoyable. Because you can easily drop elements anywhere you like on your page.

This means that every page on WIX is magnetized and optimized for any element to stay glued.

But Squarespace didn’t allow this and it’s for a primary reason which I am sure the creators are careful of.

If you decide to drop elements anywhere on your page which you are building.

By the time you decide to view that page on your mobile device. It can look awful.

That’s what the creators are trying to avoid and it’s a very good advantage for beginners landing page builders who might get frustrated as to what to do next.

So, optimizing pages for mobile devices, and be rest assured that any page you build on Squarespace will surely be well viewed on mobile and not laptop devices alone.

6. Bundled Into A Whole:

If you are someone like me, you will know that I love the ease and dislike anything that will become difficult for me to handle.

I’m sure this is also something that this platform sees in their audience’s thoughts and decides to make their software become a bundle of everything.

If you are to use other platforms and page builders. You will need to have a separate hosting, domain & security before you can use most page builders.

This will also lead to paying extra money to purchase all these things one by one.

Although, this might not be a big deal for someone like us who is already used to online business.

But for someone new and a novice – it will be like hell and can make them quit.

But Squarespace already has all this ready for you. Everything is already bundled into one for you.

You don’t necessarily need to keep purchasing things separately because everything is available for you on this platform.

Although, just like I said earlier – if you already have enough knowledge of website designing.

You don’t have a problem worrying about thinking if you should have hosting, domain, security, and other things separately.

But for someone new… Whoops! Whoops!. They might just smatch their computer screen.

pros and cons of Squarespace

Let us look at the cons of Squarespace Landing Page Builder.

Cons

  1. No Third-party Support For Apps, Plugins, or Extensions.
  2. It Might Be Expensive.
  3. Not Enough Landing Pages.
  4. No Continuous Autosave.
  5. Pages Not Properly Named.
  6. Cloud-based Accessed On Mobile.

1. No Third-party Support For Apps, Plugins, or Extensions:

Sometimes, one will wish to add some third-party tools for the best user experience and sales conversion.

Then what happens? It becomes impossible to do on Squarespace.

The platform doesn’t give chance to integrate some third-party tools that are the best fit for a particular page feature.

These are the things that one can enjoy when using WordPress to build a landing page.

But it is not available on Squarespace because one is only limited to the features that are given on the platform.

And is this satisfactory? No!

That’s what I don’t like about Squarespace because as someone who has been creating pages for a while.

Some features help to increase conversions and get you more results.

So, is Squarespace trying to say that they know everything? Are they saying they know or have everything it takes to make a complete website?

Because nobody is perfect, that’s why page builders like WordPress will continue to be the go-to.

So, I don’t like this about Squarespace because I as a user will see some features that my Competitors are using.

And maybe I am aware of the tool or app that they used and I couldn’t do the same for my website.

Why? Just because I am using Squarespace? No! That shouldn’t be my limitation.

I can’t rely on something that will make me have just one choice. I need to have other Choices.

That’s why I am not contented with Squarespace and the first limitation it has.

Let us move to the second con.

2. It Might Be Expensive:

Although for a newbie, Squarespace might be economical. But for someone who is already used to website designing.

The platform is expensive because with just as low as $34. You can get your hosting and domain set up on a hosting platform like Namecheap.

Also, this is a yearly plan compared to the $12 monthly plan on Squarespace.

This is kinda expensive and not that economical for someone who is just starting with a low budget.

Although, I stated that they have a 14 days Free Trial which someone can use to build a landing page and earn money to get a plan.

But what if it goes adverse and the person doesn’t earn anything. Because for a novice who is new to the online world.

Earning money quickly within 14 days is going to be hard. So, it’s not that economical.

WordPress is still well more than this in terms of being economical and even though one will surely need to get a landing page builder to create mouthwatering pages on WordPress.

It’s still cool because there are many one-time purchase page builders out there that will also serve the same purpose that Squarespace will offer.

The files can be easily exported and used as a reference for other purposes.

Or maybe you are using the Squarespace email platform where you have access to gather the email addresses of people.

Because Squarespace also supports and has email marketing features. These are some of the things you can export for storage purposes or other purposes.

5. Pages Not Properly Named:

When you look at most of the pages in Squarespace. They are not properly named.

So, it becomes difficult for an ordinary user who is a newbie on the platform to know which purpose each page serves.

Instead of giving their landing pages regular names that are not explainable and difficult to know what exactly they stand for.

Why not just give it the name it’s exactly suited for. If it’s for e-commerce, just the name is e-commerce.

Instead of regular names that one has to preview and test before one can know if it’s exactly for e-commerce.

This will save a lot of time that one should have wasted on looking if the template is exactly for a suitable need.

So, this is another disadvantage that I see in Squarespace because I find it somehow difficult to know what some templates stand to represent.

6. Cloud-based Accessed On Mobile:

As someone who presses the phone a lot. I like a platform that I can even access on my phone.

I wrote this guide through WordPress and I could remember that I uploaded it on this website with my mobile device.

Not even fancy carrying laptop all the time just to look professional. I love the ease, so I like a platform that is mobile used.

Something that can be used on mobile and page creation that can be built with a mobile device.

That would be interesting because it makes page creation very easy.

Call me crazy but I believe this can be achievable. Having a drag and drop feature on the phone creates a perfect job without any glitches.

This is the feature that Squarespace should also work towards having. Although they currently don’t have it.

And it’s a disadvantage that is costing them a lot of users compare to their Competitive brands.
